You Don't Stop Riding Because You Get Old...

...you get old because you stop riding.

I remember reading that on a T-shirt, back in the mid-90s, and it's stuck with me ever since. I wasn't old then, I am now.

This uplifting short film was highlighted to me by Dave Skooter Farm. It's a perfect Off-topic Sunday post, because it will be relevant to a lot of Sideburn readers.

There are a lot of old guys racing flat track in the US, but many raced all their lives, perhaps with gaps of a few years, in some cases more. But there are a lot of old men and women racing flat track in the UK, and they never raced before getting involved with this sport, and where introduced to the track by either the DTRA, or the Scunthorpe series, Dirt Quake or similar events. These are riders making their race debuts in their 50s and 60s. Mr Kinoshita, in this video, is in a different league, but he is a heck of an inspiration.

Arigato, Kinoshita-san!
