Indian Motorcycle have partnered with our old friends at Krazy Horse to create an impressive UK flagship store for the motorcycle company. Located on Kensington High Street, one of the most exclusive areas of London, for decades the site was the sole showroom of the uniquely quirky luxury car brand, Bristol. It is undoubtedly, to use the US phrase, prime real estate.
The street-level store is stocked with a mixture of standard and customised Indians, plus the iconic FTR750 racebike, while downstairs houses Indian's and Krazy Horse's growing range of apparel and accessories.
Krazy Horse are the UK's most dynamic motorcycle main dealers. Sideburn first officially met them, at the Motor Bike Expo, Verona, in January 2012, though I'd been to events they put on in the town of Bury St Edmunds previously. Since that first meeting they have opened, and moved into a modern two-storey destination store in the Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk; become the world's most important Morgan dealer; become one of Indian's biggest dealers in Europe; opened a London store (not this one) and an Oxfordshire brand. Now this.
Along the way, under the leadership of the irrepressible Paul Beamish, they have supported events big and small, supported magazines (including Sideburn), supported and hosted the DTRA, competed in dirt track races all over Europe, stocked niche bike brands like Zaeta and Paton, raced in events including the Malle Mile and built dozens of custom bikes.
They are true enthusiasts, in the model of the best from the US, not the car franchise-owned, bean counter dealerships that now run most UK bike showrooms.
Indian's Grant Bester says, 'We are extremely proud of our long association with the dynamic team at Krazy Horse... Exposing our portfolio to high-street consumers in this prestigious location is sure to raise Indian Motorcycle’s profile still further, which perfectly complements our delivery of a newly refined line-up of premium American Motorcycles for 2022.'
We wish them all the success in the world.
