Tom Bing and friends are putting on a Friday night get together in the North-East, the night before the DTRA Redcar round if racers are interested in making a longer weekend of it. They're showing a the Deus-financed film Death Rides a Horse.
We love the idea of local groups promoting events around the races, to make long journeys more worth it, and also to encourage local scenes to grow. To be honest, the UK doesn't have regional scenes like some much bigger countries. The organisers shared this info...
The Venue
The TVLB Watch House Museum.
It’s a beautiful historic watch house and home to the still active Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade. It is on the Spanish Battery - a small residential area cut off from the rest of Tynemouth, in the shadow of the ancient priory with views over the river Tyne and the North Sea. It’s packed with historic lifesaving, naval and shipwreck artefacts and objects. We are very lucky to have the venue - its awesome.
There are loads of spaces for camper vans to park up and sleep and it’s a lovely, safe little village.
